View Full Version : Why have we loaned out Coq and kept Frimpong?......

I'm as up as anyone for clearing out the deadwood, but I actually reckon Coq is rather good.

Looked useful as a DM, I can't remember any mistakes but can remember a goal coming from his interception and pass last season.

Also, he looked useful at full-back in a Flamster sort off way.

And with TV's injury and the idea that Bazza is now a back-up centre-half, Coq on the bench means he can cover for a midfielder, a full-back or a centre-half (via Bazza moving centrally and Coq playing RB).

Frimster can't.

As it stands, our squad is now weaker than last season. I know most people hated our dome-headed Ivorian, but he allowed Poldi to play through the middle or Santi in CM, giving more options.

Just like Coq does.

I can't believe we haven't looked for a left-winger (left-sided wide forward). I'd be happy with a usual Wenger £12-17m signing in that role.

But keeping Frimpong and loaning out Coq? Don't get it.

I liked him. Never let us down, either in CM or at RB.

His loss has weakened the squad for what? Just some wages, and we've saved loads on that.

Arteta's out. Abou's long term. We're weaker now than 12 months ago.

Maybe I've just got a soft spot for Coq?

The fact Wenger was looking at Gustavo but never placed a bid reassures me he is looking for a quality DM
