Luis Suarez last night admitted that he will be staying at Liverpool.

The Uruguay forward is in Tokyo on international duty, but told newspaper El Observador:

"For now, due to all of the people's affection (for me), I will be staying."

The newspaper reports appear to confirm what broadcast journalist Martin Chaquero last night claimed on his Twitter, saying that Suarez had been convinced to stay by the fans' treatment of him in recent weeks.

“Luis Suarez confirms to me he will not leave Liverpool. The support of the fans has influenced his decision," Chaquero said.

"Suarez see it as likely that he'll sign a renewal (extension) to the contract that binds him to Liverpool."

Whilst not confirmed just yet, it means that Suarez gets a pay rise, he gets a release clause to foreign clubs, and Liverpool get greater security that they'll keep him and if they do get top 4 - everyone is happy.
