Just too many things needed to go in our favour for it to happen imo. Liverpool's hysterical reaction was always going to be the biggest obstacle, and so it has proved. Even by their standards though, it's been an almighty hissy fit.

The way I see it, there are three possible scenarios:

1) Suarez reiterates publicly that he wants to leave
2) Suarez gives a half-arse apology and says he'll stay
3) They carry on as they are until it blows over

Surely given his previous, 1 is most likely. Not exactly the sort of guy that changes his mind or takes perceived injustices well. We might well not get him but think we've got a decent chance, even more so if we remain the only bidders. Worst case scenario, we get that Colombian off Porto or similar which is fine by me.
