yes he was over-rated but that doesn't mean he was rubbish by any stretch. Worked with enough high profile managers who know a few things about football!

A decent percentage of England's goals during his career involved Beckham passes or crosses.

Average and was dropped and in fact when he came back...did OK.....but it was left to one Jose Antonio Reyes to get him his medal.

He was a very good footballer who made the most of his talents. No one is saying he was a genius, but you're basically using your dislike of the man to cloud your judgement.

Who worked hard on his game.

He was gifted but had to work hard on the things he was good at because there were things he wasnt so good at.

Argusbly the best crosser of the ball in the modern game, excellent passer.

I didnt particularly like the guy and the press did hype him a little but believing him to rubbish is just idiotic.

Perfectly first time and get round the ball. He didnt need time or space, that is precisely the point.

You obviously havent seen him enpugh to know that and that is the utter basics pf his game.

from seemingly innocuous places, so he did have time as he was good enough to not need to run around like a headless chicken

And the ridiculous effigy burning, abuse etc after his WC red card is a credit to the fella.

Peter

One pf the most pathetic events i have ever seen in a big game. Nobody comes out of that with credit.

Thought the ref could hve shown some balls and given a yellow.

It was barely even a flick of the leg and he hardly touched him.

I know, i know, i know...it is technically a red card but it was pathetic. Surely refs feel like ****s when looking at the big lump rolling on the floor in tears. They know they are being conned.
