"He will provide competition in central midfield for Arteta and Diaby"

otherwise he'd have been advised to retire?

Seriously, are there grounds for offering him a new deal? The last three years has been ridiculous, he hasnt managed double figures in any of them.

You cant just keep paying him on the off chance.

We are basically getting less than 20 games a year from him.As I say,sad to see him go but can we afford him?

I think he has started fewer than 20 games in the last three seasons.

He should be fit by around february or so but after such a long lay off he is unlikely to do much this season. Arsene has a big decision to make. Might have to offer, at best, a one year extension.

As much as i rate him, you have to draw the line somewhere. I have pretty much given up on him now.

over and punches, kicks and maybe stabs whoever is the target we want to be hospitalised...just use him for big games as a massivley violent distraction, maybe he just runs on without being brought on so we dont lose a player....1 nil down ten mins to go, messi all over us..diaby runs on and poleaxes the wee fecker..job done, one more year contract.
