I think we probably have to sign a striker whatever happens but it is tricky for wenger now. Assuming suarez doesnt come, he has to decide where to go and whether an ordinary signing is going to make him look daft.

I would like to think that wenger doesnt worry about that sort of thing and will just do what he thinks is right. Unfortunately, that normally involves buying the right player or nobody.

I wouldnt be shocked if we didnt sign anyone. I see it as a 2/3 year plan to get us up to challenging, it isnt going to happen over a summer. And even eith big sums it isnt easy. If it is 18 months before we see serious investment then that is ok if it is the right players. I dont want us to waste money chasing big names for the sake of it.

Even with Gustavo and Suarez I think we will be some way off the pace setters come April. A championship challenge only starts in April. No point being up there until March then getting 5 points from a possible 30 in the run in.
