Their gran, halfway between Seattle and Portland, they are off camping, then its back to Seattle on I-5 North, then drive down to Portland on Tuesday to pick them up for the trip,. Have planned the trip so as to drive max of 6-7 hrs a day.

Driving the PH1 is one of the most sensational roads to drive anywhere on Earth!

I forget roughly where, but there is a thin finger of the cliff that winds and points out to the Pacific only to turn tightly 180 deg' back towards land.

I'm on the outside and taking this turn right on the apex, and here comes this great big ******* of a dump truck between me and the wall.

I thought that we were dead! The missus was already screaming, and I couldn't swerve out of the way because we would have went over down to the rocks 100+ ft below.

To this day, I am still perplexed as to why we didn't die. 'kin miracle!
