View Full Version : Surez should take legal advice, Liverpool are in breach of contract...

Gordon Taylor inadvertently confirmed that.

“There is a clause in there that if Liverpool do not qualify for the Champions League and then they receive a minimum offer of 40m, then the parties will ‘agree in good faith to discuss and negotiate in good faith’ and see what transpires,” Taylor said. “It is not a straightforward buyout clause and the contract is open to different interpretations. It doesn’t say there is an automatic trigger for a move.”

All well and good, but dismissing our bids out of hand, refusing to consider ANY offers at all and Liverpool's owner flippantly tweeting to ask what we're smoking doesn't constitute agreeing 'to discuss and negotiate in good faith'.

At the very least, the bin dippers tricked him into thinking he'd have a fair chance of getting a move if he was unsettled or wanted to better himself. Why else include such a clause if the actually have NO intention to consider ANY bids or enter discussions in good faith.

Liverpool are in breach of contract based on Gordon Taylor's comments...

A point that hasnt been made enough in the press.

That clause doesnt sit with their bullish, tough guy stance. God help them if they are on dispute with suarez and HE is the reasonable one :hehe:

It's not on the same level as Sopranos/Wire/Carnivale, but it's still much better quality fare than we generally get treated to.

or help to generate any goodwill with Liverpool. It was a pretty cynical and calculated thing to do, and i don't think it's helped our cause at all. Given that further negociations with Liverpool were always likely to be needed.

As in 40,000,000 and 1.

We all may know or suspect it happens, this is 100% clear here. His agent has spoken with us, others also I would imagine.

If we go up further I will probably cry and I don't normally cry about football what with it simply being a game and all that.

It would also explain our first bid; we probably knew that we had a clear run.

Otherwise how would anybody find out that his client was available if certain conditions could be met?

not some c**t who is using us as a sounding board to get away from Liverpool and will go to Real Madrid as soon as they show even the slightest bit of interest.
