speculation for years.

Why not just at least enjoy he fact that we're now able to mix it with teh big boys, financialistically speaking?

it's what you always wanted, isn't it?

Get Bob Crowe in, or failing that Neil Ruddock

A great interview, he said he owed a debt to the game of cricket (which he was rather decent at, as a youngster) for toughening him up.

Just goes to show that money can't buy you happiness.

It has never been our style.

Plenty of good players out there and we seem to have plenty of money. Yet we seem to be happy to wait on this all summer and do nothing else.

Its a strange time for us.

With the best will in the world, gary neville looks like just the sort of boring c**t who likes cricket.

See: Arsene Wenger on French telly or Al Jazeera.

Well, they might be, but i would expect the two of you to be ble to understand them.

Well, you maybe, not sure about the other chap. You know, sometimes i get the feeling he is beig deliberately difficult :-)

tug-of-war. Surely neither us or Liverpool would want to touch him...

He is possibly the best player in the world we could realistically buy. We should credit for the club for trying to capitalise on that.

he's their best player. If Chelsea were interested it would be merely one more damn thing and the money wouldn't matter. Manchester United probably wouldn't go there as they don't tend to talk to Liverpool very much, in any case.

So you see, it's all about The Arsenal really. And Arsene Wenger.

Peter

You know the money bags ones who will buy anyone, pay anything.

We are in a queue of one for supposedly one of the world's best strikers. Why is that?

may have helped leave the path clear for us, but I don' think we're in a position where we can turn down the chance to sign a player that good, regardless of the player's chequered past.

And like I say, I think his reputation has been damaged disproportionately. Rather him than, say, Adebayor, any day of the week.

*In case you are wondering, I once famously alluded to the player we need as being a 30+ goals a season man, whether or not he was capable of actually scoring 30+ goals in a season.

I am uncomfortable with that.
