It now appears that the issue might just be hyperthyroidism, but treatment for that would be an operation or radiation, which he isn't really strong enough for at present. So he's staying in the hospital and being stuffed with antibiotics. It's a bit of a wait and see job at the moment, but much more hopeful than it appeared yesterday.
