Hello all. Just a quick point. One insight into Suarez we don't have but Wenger does is Vermaelen.

Remember Vermaelen was Suarez's colleague and even his club captain at Ajax (albeit briefly) prior to joining us and therefore knows the little git, sorry potential Arsenal legend, pretty well.

I am pretty confident that Wenger will have gotten the benefit of TV5's insight into Suarez's character, ie from someone who previously had to work with him and as captain cajoled him into a player of the season performance (in 2009). This perspective is denied to us.

year I can certainly vouch for the fact that racisim is rife over there. It's seen as a much bigger deal here than pretty much anywhere in the world, as far as I can work out.

When you think about, it's only bad if you're actually discriminating against someone. Calling someone a name won't hurt them - and that's usually all it is.

Suarez is a desperation gamble by Wenger - he's the only manager trying to sign him. That could change of course as it often does in football.
