what could be a problem, is that as a full back you tend to want to make your tackle/interception at the earliest possible moment knowing that there is cover in the middle. If he does that at centre half there is far less cover, and it becomes far more dangerous if he gets it wrong.

I mean, even if Miguel is a bit ****, is it really essential?

Vermaelen is the only genuine cover and i suppose you would hope to manage with those three. You could argue that a fourth choice would get so little game time that a good player wouldnt put up with it. And we already have crappy choices.....

It is far from urgent so i am sure we wont do anything.

if he's going to miss 3 months of the season (currently saying 6 weeks, but I think we all know we need to double whatever we're told when it comes to injuries!!), you could definitely make a case for needing one as whoever you buy is essentially 3rd choice.
