West Coast drive down route 1 is stunning. San Fran-Carmel/Monterrey-Santa Barbara and then San Diego. Would do it again tomorrow

civilized - in fact reminded me quite a bit of Northern California.

To get what you are looking for I'd suggest Louisiana, Mississippi, or Alabama. Them is the real down home country folk who can skin a rattler for yer and then offer moonshine.

Texans are folk I can relate to.

But if you do go to Ausin, go to The Salt Lick for steaks, but be forewarned, it's a dry county so you bring your own cooler filled with beer. :nod:
