Where as Arsenal at least would see him re-joining a club he has affection for and a manager he views as the most important in his career.

one of the best players in the world playing for a team that has little hope of being a force?

I don't think either possibility is plausible, mind. My original comment was pretty clearly facetious, or so I thought.

I'm sure he realises now just what he had at Arsenal.

Talking big and signing nobody.

Obviously if that changed, the picture might change. But so far it hasnt.

You are still talking about one of the world's biggest, richest and most successful clubs. Have to be slightly attractive dont they?

I did think you were joking to be honest, but the conversation escalated around us both so i decided to get involved :-)

But if you leave that to one side it isnt that ridiculous. There was always a slight worry that he was joining the one club in the world that didnt really need him. Maybe he doesnT want to wait another 2-3 years to see if they will build their future team around him.

They are big players again.

Don't you remember his goal v Spuds when he megged Ledley King?

Or when he scored a penalty with a BROKEN LEG???

 Top priority. I'd take Fabregas and Akpom if that's what it meant.
