View Full Version : I have been studying this for a while. And people who are angry with their own football club/manager

are probably most likely angry at other elements of their life.

They need to fix these items and everything will be smooth. I am having a tough week and Arsenal are pissing me off. But last week I was in a good mood I didn't care less.

Football is their escape but it's not going how they want it.
Choose a different escape.

dependency. You'd be angry if you spent your whole life saying, "Everything's f**king ****" through teeth stained bronze by decades of fried slices.

Since I was young I've done a fair bit of mountaineering/backpacking etc and used to whinge and complain about the cold, wet feet, tiredness etc etc tc. But relatively early on I learned that all focussing on negatives does is make the whole process more excruciatingly arduous and painful.

As soon as everyone learns there's really nothing to gain (and plenty to lose) from melodramatic hand-wringing - be it to do with our football club, work, or anything in life - then the world will be a far better place.

This weather is depressing, isn't it? Even Bob Dylan couldn't cheer me up on my lunchtime stroll. :-(

Maybe I'll go scud-running under a 500' overcast in 3k and DZ. Fúck it.

How are you fixed? How about meeting on Saturday morning and going to Borough Market, there to browse the wondrousness and choose our menu on the hoof?

What if you support a team who wins all the time. Maybe you become more successful. or if you support a regulation fodder team you try hard but end up with nothing in the end.

I will write a book.

Then return home clutching our (doubtless) oversized lump of flesh like triumphant hunters, get even more pissed, and cremate the *******.

I recall the food being just, well, ordinary, really. I couldn't get excited enough about it to form much of an opinion.

awful-looking people. When they did seat us, one of us had to go up and queue to order rather than simply tell a waiter what we wanted. Then it turned up and it was chicken and chips, basically. The chicken was very dry and tasted of very little, so I smothered it in the various sauces they provide. I left feeling less hungry than when I arrived. That is the best I can say about the whole thing.

There were plastic trays!

A rather charming young man offered to fetch me another beer, as well.

I try to remain within the bounds of my gated community, as far as possible. Occasionally I venture out in my vehicle with the doors firmly locked, but will can only be persuaded to leave the security thereof by the doorman at The Savoy. And even then I need a clear, visible route straight to the lobby :-(

I ordered half a chicken. It must have been a dwarf or something.
