We've not signed anyone yet! WAAAAAAAAAAHHH!

Based on zero information, I must therefore assume we're not going to sign anyone!!!! WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH!

We're making our negotiating position too obvious!! WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH!!!

The fans aren't being told anything!!! WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH!

Honestly, get a f**king grip, you wet-trousered, lack of moral fibre-having bunch of knob-nibbling ponces. You're a disgrace.

Wenger has got to balance the desire to bring in new players with the need to keep existing players confident and motivated. That's his priority and I sincerely hope that what a bunch of know-nothing fans think about it never even crosses his mind.

We'll have to wait and see. But to say we will challenge for the title with the current squard is laughable.

part of the season suggests that we are capable of putting together a serious run of results. Considering the upheaval at the three top clubs, it's not unimaginable that we could at least be up there.

The minute anyone calls Wenger a 'c*nt' or starts going on about 'spendin' some fakkin money', specially-trained stewards would be empowered simply to come up behind them and apply the old genickschuss with a low-velocity round.

Bingo: another season ticket freed up and everyone else gets to get on with supporting Arsenal. Everyone's happy.

Who have seen far worse AFC teams over the decades. But because the cost is no so much more, there is some kind of entitlement to greater success. It's weird.

The clubs above have had infinitely greater resources. Now we are in a position to invest, which will set us up for the future. I think we need a few players and I am sure we will get them. What I don't know is who they should be - not being a football manager and all.

andy smith
07-30-2013, 09:33 AM
"I'm very confident in my players. We'll take it game by game and see how we get on" though? I just worry about the abuse he and the team are going to get from the crowd this season.

I know his intentions are right but he doesn't help himself given the feelings of discontent among a significant proportion of the fan base at the moment. Yes, the majority of them are thick but they'll be the ones shouting the loudest when the season starts...it's not going to help the team to alienate them.

Of course, a couple of signings will change all this very quickly...

but the comment he did say isn't the wisest imo. While he doesn't answer to individual smart arse fans on anything, I would like to think that he wants the fans behind the team. Unfortunately you cannot cater to everyone. It seems that we just may need new fans :hehe:

Joking aside, he could have made a more neutral statement.

Probably the types of people that were moaning throughout the 03-04 season that Gilberto/Lauren weren't good enough. Of course they can't remember that.

I read somewhere (not here) an Arsenal fan saying that if Wenger left, he'll leave a worse squad behind than GG did when he went. The current squad probably has more than 20 internationals. GG's last team had Ian Selley, Eddie McGoldrick and David Hillier :hehe:

But we really should bear in mind that our football knowledge is pretty tiny compared to most managers - especially AW. We have no idea really. Not to say we can't voice concerns etc, but really, it should and has no impact on the team

As has been said, the window remains open for several weeks. He shouldn't feel the need to begin defending his position or make bold claims about challenging for the title with the current players, until the transfer curtain comes down.

And my god, and then will he get some pelters http://www.awimb.com/images/smiley_icons/ohwell.gif
