View Full Version : Surely no-one's stupid enough to believe those Top Gear stunts are not staged?

Every week they seem to have a 10k mile race between a car and a speedboat where the car just about beats the boat by about 60 seconds. Not to mention the police pulling the car over for something or a comical breakdown somewhere

I hate Top Gear

so if it annoys you that it happens to be 'so close' etc ..then i think the joke may be on you as its not meant to be realism ffs :-)

this series has pretty poor though although the hovervan skit was pretty funny

The one highlight was still Jimmy Carr's comment to Warwick Davies and asking him "I'm not sure what superpowers you people have"

I just judge them

Plus the show is popular in so many countries, it's an absolute cash cow

Do you judge people for watching fictonal films as well?

i.e. why make a fuss over them being caught out this time when every week their features are clearly staged due to the 'comedy' nature of them

I do hope you pay more attention when you're at work

a good proportion of its viewers are shambling cretins who can barely distinguish between Eastenders and real life - let alone a supposedly factual programme like Top Gear.

Never forget: most people are morons.

It's always a load of *******s but I actually thought they looked genuinely surprised when it floated the second time.

I've seen him live a few times, I think he's very good

You could get his 90 minute shows down to a nice, tight, compact 40 minutes if you could just edit out the repetition and pointless joke walkthroughs he does to prove that everybody in the room is so superior.

Ultimately, the joke's on the smug, superior-feeling audience that are paying to hear the same line over and over again.

altogether. However, in these days of Michael McIntyre's Comedy c**tfest and the likes of Jimmy Carr and Frankie Boyle pandering to their audience's basest instincts, I'll still forgive Lee simply on the grounds that he makes his audiences examine their own prejudices rather than simply pandering to them.
