repairable. Whilst the damage is minuscule it all adds up.

Normally I am fine at loud gigs but this lasted for 3 days. And it didn't seem so loud.

I rarely get that now. Perhaps I got used to the noise. In fact despite having rehearsed with very loud bands in very small rooms for many hours a week for many years, my hearing is still pretty good.

I've never bothered with ear defenders since firing 105mm field guns. They were rather loud, I must admit.

Rich will probaly give you some boring elf'nsafety type advice though.

by clamping them in a black n deckar workmate then going under neath with a mallet and big nail and hammering the firing pin..when youngt n drunk..they were the big marine distress ones...couldnt hear ****e for 2 days then high rining..started to get quite worried tbh :-)
