View Full Version : Camden Town tube frontage seems very unusual for a Leslie Green. The top storey looks not only out

of synch, but looks an odd Queen-Anne/Deco hybrid. I noticed it for the first time this morning despite having walked past it thousands of times, and was wondering if the front was added to an earlier building, or if the top storey was added. Pat/Hil/anyone - any comments?

so maybe it's more of an attempt to fit in with the local vernacular.

That said, the idea of a camden vernacular :hehe:

might have the characteristic red-and-white. I'm sure there's none of it up Chalk Farm Rd, Kentish Town Rd, the High Street or Camden Road though.

there was a 3rd arch.

However from the prewar photos looks like the top part was like that before that period
