We were clearly interested in him, he was available and the fee was only £22m and he is a class player and also still at a good young age. We could have done a deal a month ago and he would be banging them in on the Asia tour. Of course he is not the complete answer to our weak squad but he would be a step in the right direction.

If the club doesn't make a few significant signings this summer i.e. 20Mil+ or so then the boss should probably leave as the club needs a manager who will use the financial power of the club to try and win trophies
