rooney ain't coming to us because at this moment in time no tip player is coming to us if manure, man city or chelsea are interested. And if they are not then they look at madrid, barcelona or PSG and then finally if none of them are interested then they will consider us. But no top player is going to be overlooked by all the above.

The gap between us and the top 3 in terms of club attractiveness is getting wider. Those knob heads at the club who keep spouting about Financial Fair Play are just living in cloud cuckoo land. It reminds me about all the hysteria about the likely Y2K catastrophe. What happened ? Feck all and the world did not go into meltdown because everyone was ready for it. Well he won't be if he does not offer realistic money for top players. He was never going to get Higuain for 23m or Suarez for 30m.
As you point out other clubs already have better squads than us,so it would take more than just one big signing to realistically compete with them for major trophies over the course of a season, against just taking on spuds for 4th place and a Champions League qualifier tie.

We should have made signings by now, but thanks to Wenger & Gazidis being so stubborn, we are going to end up with the usual crap, Sonogo is about as good as it gets.
