Rooney feel wanted by Chelsea and making him feel he belongs there by publicly and frankly admitting he is a target and pubicly praising the rug headed granny-banger. Arsenal conduct there business in an aloof and somewhat clandestine manner. They just don't get that a player's decision to join a club is a largely an emotional one. Utd seem to want to sell rooney - they wouldn't have repeatedly dissed him were that not the case

However

1. the price from us they will demand would also include release of first option rights on Fabregas (which may also explain Utds confidence in signing him nand their apparent ease at dissing rooney).

2. without the fabregas release, chelsea will out bid us every time

3. Chelsea could offer other players (eg mata) if necessary as well.

4. Arsene cant make his mind up and no one seems to make decisions without him. Happy days.

Notwithstanding the extra cash, it seems we can still only sign world class players if they are sufficiently injured/damaged to the extent that none of chelsea, man city, psg, napoli etc will be interested.
