Some of the players did nickname him Inspector Clouseau, well now we have Gazidis as Kato, whats the point in bidding £30m for Suarez and faffing around with the price of Felliani? Once we miss all our targets we will be the laughing stock of European Football..

They arnt serious about these big names signings. Its all bravado. The squad needs at least 5 new incomings. Meanwhile the club lords up in a nice sunny part of world.

Something should have happened by now, Felliani should have been on the current tour, its all about penny pinching, really embarrassing for a big club to act like this, season will be over before it starts when all these deals go tits up.

Please point me in the direction of the official quotes, from either Arsenal, or Liverpool, I don't mind, telling us that we bid £30m for Suarez.

Oh and then do the same for Arsenal or Everton with regards to Fellaini.

Oh sod it, do the same for Higuain with Madrid and Rooney for Man Utd will ya.

Thanks in advance.

Is to do what City did and pay these sorts of prices in order to guarantee getting the players quickly

I'm sure you don't want to go down that path, do you?

"We had an offer which is fairly public from Arsenal. We said no to that offer, There you go, one from Liverpool, we are the only big club who conducts their transfer deals like this, dont forget we need to catch up, so teams like Man U can bide their time. There is no excuse for not making any signings yet.

Liverpool’s Managing Director Ian Arye has spoken exclusively to Bloomberg’s Tariq Panja on Monday about Arsenal’s bid for Luis Suarez.

Ian Arye made the following comments:

I don’t think anyone will be against him [Suarez] at this point. He only needs to do what he did last season and everyone will feel he’s in the right place and he should carry on getting the support that he deserves and gets from Liverpool.

We’d love to see Luis put on a Liverpool shirt for this season and beyond and we hope that once he gets back things will settle down.

This is an ambitious young player, he’s talked in the media about wanting to play in the Champions League and all these things. It’s our job to convince Luis that this is the right place to achieve those things.

I’ve heard him say it would great to have an opportunity to play for Arsenal and likewise Real Madrid. But he certainly hasn’t called me up and said he wants to leave.

We had an offer which is fairly public from Arsenal. We said no to that offer, and as far as we’re concerned he turns up for training when he’s due back. And we’ll move forward on that basis.

We get offers for lots of our players at different times.

Unless we get to a situation where that player absolutely doesn’t want to be here and we don’t want him to be here then that’s a different kettle of fish. Right now we’d love to see Luis put on a Liverpool shirt for this season and beyond and we hope that once he gets back things will settle down.
