View Full Version : FashWIMB: Has anyone considered changing job because of poor tea & coffee making facilities?

A bit extreme, but no fresh coffee for TWO days in a row is a bit much. The instant is so foul, I might even have to drink tea.

All this is against a background of mug shortages, often having to use a fork to spoon in the sugar and stir because of lack of spoons etc.

I think I was a bit spoiled in my last place where there was a chap paid full time to ensure that all the kitchens were up to scratch at all times.

Or "chai walla" in hindi I guess?

I never could bring myself to ask him to get me tea or coffee. Felt like a mix of an upper class snob and a fackin racist. He insisted on a few occasions though.

You know you can buy your own pods to fill with coffee of your choice, I take it? Not that I do, but I could if I were concerned.

Actually, your lot are worse I think, beer is cheap as it is in England, our beer is far from it.

There is a queue out into the street from Systembolaget in Strømstad - EVERY day. Norwegians buying booze, tobacco and lard.

Carry on. I quite agree, it's the responsibility of your employer to provide access to good, clean gack and a nice stable bugling surface.

We drove down on impulse from our cabin in Strömstad to Goffenburg the other night (takes 1.5 hrs) to watch Sweden-Denmark in the Women's Euro. Went up to the ticket office and said: "two tickets please".

?

"Sir, it's sold out, a long time ago."

18,000 tickets gone, for a women's game. The whole city full of people in Swedish shirts. Big screens. Pubs showing the game live. I was sad we didn't get in, but very happy on behalf of women's footie.

through the bins outside is getting on my nerves.

You can hear them coming as they bring a trolley, but it's a great way of getting rid of junk.

but i don't think it's any cheaper these days so it's not worth the hassle

I like the fact that you have more choice in Sweden because they are in the EU. The prices aren't THAT much better as far as i can tell. Did you hear that they want to tax French cheese so it is prohibitively expensive to buy it here over locally produced stuff?

I watched it. I dont particularly like women's football but the other alternative was the cricket.

Women's football is so much better than cricket

You'd think coffee was taxed the amount they charge for it in CostYa/StarFùcks. Of course, if MUGS didn't buy it, they wouldn't get away with it.

I'm just doing my bit to keep the market sane.

Nogs going to Sweden to buy these things don't save any money. They end up stopping in a cafe on the way eating, the use petrol etc. so it's all about getting an excuse for a trip to Sweden.

club and team (boys team) as Mads Møller Døhli. He's now with Man U. They're both born 1995. Three years ago, when she was 15 she was picked for the regional (Oslo) boys team. You can imagine how good the best 15 year old boys are, especially those who get picked by Man U. And she's probably a lot better now that she's 18. Wonder if her mom's English, her name is Caroline Graham Hansen.
