It became a bit unseemly there, good thing he won in straight sets. As rowdy as a Davis Cup match in Ecuador.

I suppose it's nothing more than, "Well, he is Scottish, but we might not have another chance to win this thing on our own soil so we'll take it."

Great match. The Djokester played well so Murray earned it.

Got far more excited about seeing themselves on telly than they did about the match.

some felt the favouritism in the stadium was unfair and more should have been done to keep them quiet. My view is .. pfff, it's tennis. Big deal. I;m glad to see some different people win.

Imagine being the 10th best player in the world .. and nobody knows who you are! I think I only know 5 or 6 players.

and nationalism within GB didn't use to be so fashionable imo, and is now encouraged by identity politics. In the 66 WC final union flags were waved.

I mean, it was as much as an olden days bloke could do just to semi-vigorously shake a rattle between bilious coughs of lung and tar.

Nowadays there's no shortage of people perfectly prepared to look grade a c**ts.

Sad seens as far as a reserved air of nonchalant superiority goes.
