See, here's the thing with the addition of ham into a toastie though, does it not absorb heat to the point which your sandwich is hotter than the sun?

Personally I prefer a little diced chorizo, even better on cheese on toast as the gorgeous red paprika-ey juices run all over your cheese :cloud9:

Go and stand out side and think about what you've done, FSL

I believe the water content of the tomato becomes super-heated, and as the crimped egdes of the 'wich cause the pressure within the sandwich to increase, this water reaches temperatures of 3,200 degrees without turning to steam.

Bit of science for you there.

I just like my meat to be at the stage where it is no longer a health risk, or indeed still twitching

And it is a matter of awimb record that I eat only the finest meat.

The odd battered sausage aside

Might as well have Iceland beefburgers and pocket the difference imo.

rare. Or medium-rare, depends on the cut.

Also can happen when the missus has distracted me at the crucial moment during cooking. Or I was concentrating on my beer.

Nothing unhealthy about rare beef - it's definitely dead if it's been cut into steaks imo.
