View Full Version : Has anybody ever flown out of Southend airport?

I took a flight from there to Malaga recently and it scared the bejesus out of me.

After we took off, the plane went really slowly and I mean the slowest I have ever seen a plane go. The engine power went down a level audibly a couple of times. We turned the corner once, still just floating above houses and not gaining any more height. Then did the same again. I was convinced there was a problem and the pilot was trying to get us back to the airport. But nobody else seemed worried at all. It was very very surreal. After about 3-4 minutes, which is a very long time in that situation, we finally accelerated again and then gained some height and away we went.

The reaction of the other passengers made me think it must have been down to a weird flight line you have to take from Southend because of all the local residents, but I wish I had known about it in advance.

Normally on take off you get pinned back in your seat a bit.
the plane makes a big racket.

for this one it seemed dead slow. very quiet. and very strange.

And there was a large storm whilst we took off I thought there is no way we will climb it's all too gentle.

C*nts. All of them. And as for expecting me to clap some fat f*ckers who've got on just because they're wearing army fatigues, well they can f*cking blow me.

for the 1991 Cup winners cup final, Man U v Barcelona...... to be honest the plane never seemed to get above a few 100 feet, the pilot made us spread the weight around to aid his flight...... when we came back custome checked the pilots bag and asked him if he;d had a nice time in the red light district.... we never did know what he had in there

RWY06 – Maintain runway heading until at least 1500ft and 1 DME (I-SO or I-ND) is passed, before turning on track.

RWY24 – Maintain runway heading until at least 1500ft and 2.5 DME (I-ND or I-SO) is passed, before turning on track.

That's not really how it works, s.

In a light aeroplane you might come back on the prop a bit, but the power settings on an airliner are determined by the weight, temperature, pressure and runway length, not what the pilot fancies.

Whether they direct employees of mine or indirect.

I work hard to earn an honest crust, I only want to pass it onto people working equally as hard.
