The main food fad of recent years I don't understand is for "gourmet" burgers

Surely the bar for how good a hamburger can be is exceedingly low compared to most other food types?

I've been to Meat Liquer, Burger & Lobster, et al, and I am never less than massively underwhelmed (by the burgers). The latter even charges £20 for theirs! :yikes: (though to be fair that is to subsidise the excellent lobster, for which they charge the same)

I'll not have a word said about it, a good reliable, dependable meal. No faff, just red meat, more red meat and some cheese.

Now, dont get me started on sushi. The f**kers that eat that stuff need to have a look at themselves.

It's not so much just burgers as it is gourmet fast-food in general with Chicken Shop PittCue, Ritas etc.

It's all pretty tasty and fairly priced tbh.

I've seen it at both Wetherspoons and Yates bar now. They are horrible **** holes as well, which is why I'm in their demographics'.

Everybody* likes a burger but a large percentage of everybody likes to look down upon the average high street fast food establishment.

The only bit difficult to understand is how or why it took so long.
