Slim Whitman - a colossus of my youth. My dad would put on those old country records every Sunday before we all headed round the local British Legion. Timeless memory and very evocative of my early 70s childhood years.
RIP Slim - who knew you hadn't died years ago... - and RIP the British Legion we went to, which finally closed its door this week too.
