What I really want to do tonight is throw a hunk of flesh on an open fire and drink raw spirits.
I guess I'll just have to settle for the latter. :-(

You are, of course, more than welcome to swing by. I shall sizzle you half a cow.

I shall probably just make a steak sandwich, drink Aviations outside and then pass out instead.

I was thinking more of coffee and an After Eight.
BBQ's are just a pain in the arse, take ages and burn everything

And the half hour waiting for the coals to get going can be spent drinking beer.

Job's a good 'un imo.

You can push them together for direct heat for non-fat drippy meat or push them to the edge for indirect heat. It works great, the fat from burgers doesn't touch the coal and cause the flame to erupt like a Waco victim

All that swearing at collapsing pyramids and wives who reckon you should have lit the bloody charcoal an hour earlier
spike to puncture hundreds of holes..works a treat and has nice metal handle if you buy some old fashioned paint tin with metal wire handle :cloud9:
like a toast rack..crispy fat, nearly raw chops :cloud9: ..bbq over gas every time

gets up to 320 on the old celcius scale.
Nothing compared to the tandoor, though. Takes a while to heat up with all the wood and coals etc, but it manages to get close to 400

One day I am going to marinate a massive leg of lamb and cook it slow on indirect heat. I've done a reasonable sized turkey before, lovely.
