I'm genuinely worried about signing players from the Spanish league. Certainly with players from Real and Barca, there is a good change they are in fact duds who have been blood doping.

Just get him signed and into the shirt and onto the pitch.

although can't help but feel G.Nev carries a bit more authority these days and might have persuaded Ramsey to sign for United

He was most impressed when I retorted with all Neg has taught us over recent years.

There's definitely summat up with Spanish sport and EPO. It's just a question of who.

In all seriousness though, it's not very interesting really and that's the main problem with the whole thing.

The effects on footballing performance are certainly less serious too, it may well be different for other sports where it's just the doing of one thing (cycling, running, other stuff even more dull) but that's a central issue with the monotony of those sports. It's really them that should be taking a long hard look at themselves and thanking Dr Nick Riviera for highlighting the whole thing, essentially.

Appearing to have twice the number of players on the pitch as the opposition? Hmm?

EITHER they have a squad full of physical freaks who are naturally fitter than every other athlete on the planet or there's something going on.

However, you can turn a very, very good player into a world-beater by allowing him to run around like a toddler on tartrazine for 120 minutes without feeling any ill effects.

'Neg

Really? Seriously? Are you taking the piss?

You think it's not much of an advantage if you can outrun your opponents for 75 of the 90 minutes?

It does smack a little bit of jealousy though, it's almost as if they arent all terrifically talented players capable of using both feet and finding eachother with laser guided passes, or summink.

That doesn't change the other stuff. If it 'smacks of jealousy', are you saying that I'm mistaken in my view that they run a truly startling amount? Is that my imagination?

Classic Jorge

And lets not also forget the abject lack of empirical evidence for this, look at all of the players we've let go to Barca.

How many of them have suddenly become huge successes and physical masterpieces tearing up the grass to close down opponents?

'Neg
06-19-2013, 11:40 AM
I expect some of them to spontaneously combust soon. Or perhaps Barca had just run out of blood bags for the season. There was definitely something not right about the score and the physical performances in those games.

You know how modern day statistical information is such a part of the game. Not for me you understand but some love to pour over numbers.

One knows the game is easier when in possession and one thing they do enjoy is huge amounts of same, pressing etc being paramount when possession is lost.

Surely there is a Spanish equivalent of OPTA which would show the Catalans running or covering distances much superior to all others?

That could well be the spark that ignites the whole Mediterranean. Do you want war raging in Spain, France, Italy and Greece, j? Granted, the 'raging' bit doesn't really apply to Greece. They'd have their war more 'sitting under a tree', wouldn't they?

independence stuff, it's all healthy democracy if you ask me.

The coup de grace of the whole thing is the national anthem though, what a genius idea to just have no words. Nobody would have been able to decide on them anyway, the text or the language, so let's just have it left blank. Genius.

Much better than the recounting of past triumphs or glorifications of old kings that we have to put up with in the grey stretches of Northern Europe.
