What could possibly go wrong?

Yes, it's a nonsense idea, and one I cant help feel is slightly influenced by Israel next door.

It's not like the US supplied to weapons to the say Afghanistan only to be used against them later on when fighting those deadly Taliban.

But if they imagine it's better to at least have a fighting chance then why not.

It's rather like the thinking behind FFP.

Though I'm not sure "civilian" is a sufficient description, especially given that anybody of fighting age is now classified as an 'insurgent'.

It's not that they are actual insurgents, it just makes it much easier to justify killing somebody with a drone when it inevitably happens.

It actually makes no real difference to us either way, in any case.

Ancient Serbian churches and monasteries in Kosovo survived centuries of Ottoman rule, and even occupation by the Nazis, but were destroyed within days of NATO/UCK takeover.

You could make a fairly good argument to say that the world economy has been massively hindered by war, the beneficiaries are the ones with the biggest armies though.

Which is why the US, despite never being invaded, is constantly at war. See Chomsky's book on the US influence on the Pacific Rim.

hes no worse than saudi, kuwait. bharain leaders etc..hes no hitler etc ..irans just had a good fair election with better turnout than us and more choices of people who could win! 6 agaisnt our 2..so think its best we leave these countries too it until they actually a re a directdanger to us imo..syria, iran, they've never attacked us and never would..but going agaisnt them means jihadi types blow up our buses..stay well out o it

I would disagree though, being a superpower is incredibly easy in comparison to being the poor f**kers at the wrong end of a metaphorical jackboot. You try being aone of those poor f**kers in a sweat shop working for 62p a day.
