Then they could give one bloke in the crowd a keyboard and he could look up what people ask him. "Have Spurs scored and what's the weather like tomorrow, ooh and could you book me a table at Brasserie Chavot for 8 pm tonight?"

Unlikely as it might sound, proper tapas, in Bluewater.

She is now friends with him on Facebook....

You are right, it is proper tapas but it is dreadfully expensive. I think the model falls down that it needs Spanish people to appreciate the authenticity of the place. And if you fall into that category then you realise it is so expensive. Unfortunately, your average English punter doesn't get it.

The one in Bluewater is a pop up and I know it is making a loss at the moment. I believe the one in Westfield is more successful.

Obviously I never look at a bill.

A pop up, you say? That's disturbing. I need it within easy reach, f**k schlepping to Westfield for some croquetas and a glass of fino.

Spain has a peasant culture and a peasant economy, as you know. Earning 3 euros a day is fine for them, they can live comfortably on that with enough left over at easter to buy a donkey or other small equine for a spot of casual torture, but a restaurant here in the First World has to pay rent and rates and a living wage and so on.

Capitalism, mm.

Plus tortilla, gazpacho, paella, empanada etc.

Not to mention a ready supply of chorizo, salchichon, lomo etc.
