25m is a f**king bargain. He took a wage cut to leave us so I can't think that will be a stumbling block either.

what's to stop Fabregas saying I can't agree terms.

I don't think we will win here.

Fabregas has reservations about going to another English club, especially after seeing pal Robin van Persie become public enemy No1 when he gave up the Arsenal captaincy for a move to Man United.

Then in fact we have a very good reason to publically hate on players like Robin. Pour discourager les autres.

Often here we see objective player-oriented viewpoints which are all very grown up and detached but not actually in the interests of us as fans or of the football club. Support is a tribal thing, so if we are going to support, we might as well do it properly.

I certainly don't begrudge him, he had to go and try. Now, if he could bring his mate Lionel, too........

That way we get money back. Barcelona get full whack from us(if they have a sell on clause in our original deal)

if that's how one feels. But, by the same token, how are you going to stop the club from selling our favourite players for good money to the highest bidder?

Surely it's often the case that the fans' interests are not the same as the club's interests.

The van Persie sale is a good test. Everyone got what they supposedly wanted; Manchester United got the player, Robin got the title and we got 25 million quid. I mean, it's not as though he demanded to join Swindon Town, is it.

And this Cesc business adds another layer of intrigue; what happens when we want to bring a player back but feel unable to do so because the fans now hate him. In whose interests is this?

As I say, complicated.

There's always going to be somebody around to make unrefuseable offers.
