We were planning a short break in Scotland but it seems its cheaper to go abroad than Scotland - no jokes please :-)
I am now looking towards Nortumberland, anyone here had a good experience up there? Recommendations are more than welcome

better of the two pubs in the town.
If you are tempted to stay around Coldingham, Dunlaverock House has fab views over the bay and a private path to the beach. The old couple that run it are really welcoming. And bonkers!
