Vermalen's position is untenable. How can he stay as reserve centre-back and give up the captaincy? It's sad as he was a great player for us at first, but it's hard to imagine his pride would allow him to stay under the present circumstances.
Bringing Cesc back is a tricky one, but he would be wiser and humbler AND. It would be a constant reminder within the squad that the grass is rarely greener away from the Emirates.
