but characters as in M+M is spun-off from its predecessor. To put Curb in their is to change the definition of the genre to fit one show. I know what you mean about it being tangenital You could argue that Episodes is a spin-off from Joey, since Matt Le Blanc pretty much plays up the same character traits in both yet one is an actual character the other a fictionalised version of himself. In fact I rather like that :-)
