did and that because of strong cast. Joey was based around too much a character who was not strong enough to hold his own in their own series.

matt le blanc recent episodes show though is class to be fair :bow:

Most spins off though don,t really work. Remeber them trying to do a spin off porridge in going straight. Ronnie baxter character was never as funny when he left prison in the spin off comedy.

used to have an amazing cast but lacked the biting wit of Porridge. The first one is good though when he gets the train down from Carlisle with Officer Mackay who has just been made redundant

Does Whatever Happened to the Likely Lads count as a spin-off from The Likely Lads, I wonder?

with final train scene between two main characters from porridge. But despite a good cast, it never could bulid on the dark comedy or at times mix of comedy and tension of porridge that made it so funny and poignant.

I think whatever happened to the was a spin off and to be honest was better then the likley lads. Which is not often the case.
