While it is true about the crowds there are mitigating factors...
1) Wigan isn't that big.
2)It really is more into Rugby League.
3)Geographically it is right in the middle of two big football cities (with 4 huge teams compared to Wigan).
4)They've only been in the football league since 1978 which makes 2 & 3 even more relevant.
