Wigan will finish above Newcastle if they win their last 2 matches and Newcastle lose theirs. However, in order to do so, they would have to beat Villa, who would then remain 1 point behind Newcastle.

In other words, either Wigan or Villa can finish above Newcastle, but they can't both.
