Moyes would be perfect, in that regard.

Anywhere outside of the top 5 is not really a step up from Everton, his refusal to sign a deal with Everton would suggest something is up.

Been linked for ages with them and would provide long term stability.

Which is a comparison that I'm sure the well known fine-wine fancying, racehorse owning millionaire socialist would appreciate.

a)Ferguson has convinced the bosses to hire his friend because a miserable, angry Scotsman can only be replaced by another miserable, angry Scotsman.

or,

b) Ferguson has convinced the bosses to hire his friend because he knows he will be nowhere near as successful and therefore further improve his own legacy.

And it has been argued on here many times before that a monkey could manage a club of their power and wealth and still deliver success.

I just can't see many realistic alternatives other than Mourinho but he just doesn't fit to me.

Some games we would be lucky to have a single striker on the pitch :-|

The club is so big now that it really makes no difference who runs the football team. Just like all the other big clubs.

but there are a few, such as Klopp, who I would have expected to be preferred to Moyes. It looks, though, like they want someone already experienced in English football, which is bloody fantastic for us, imo.
