according to Dan Roan Chief Sports Correspondent, BBC News.
United have kept quiet since 6pm

Dan Roan @danroan
Hearing there could be a Utd statement as early as 10am tomorrow. Club officials on standby

@danroan
..still unusual for there to be no discreet guidance or response from club officials, & there's been none all evening

@therankins that it's possible, yes that's the suggestion. But things can change of course as we've seen before with SAF

@danroan how long has the story been rumbling before it broke? i.e. have the club only just had now to respond > 10pm

that he no plans to retire (paraphrased).

Then all of a sudden he is going to retire?

Weird, but I hope it is true.

Brilliant manager, and Utd will not be the same.

This is the telling bit so far for me.

@danroan
United cant be expected to respond to every rumour out there but when it comes to something as big as this the lack of clarity is telling

These guys know the normal club routines and outlets for dealing with this stuff
