The same way I wondered why Jim Davidson and Bill Roach came out with unprompted comments before there was any hint that they had been accused of anything

You'd have thought they've got their hands full enough just rounding up the serial offenders, without going after the petty offenders who obviously tried kiddie fiddling once out of curiosity and decided it wasn't for them.

Now, however, people seem to be being charged with Grand Noncery right, left and centre.
Anyway, in all the furore we seem to have let Nigel Evans get of with a bum rape brace scott free.

It is all a bit dubious, though, isn't it? Not least because the motivation for this investigation is largely political so that the police and media can try and cover up their inaction on Savile.

obtained enough real evidence to arrest and charge others. And I don't think the CPS accept rumour as a valid reason for pressing charges.
There is a sense of irony about a tabloid journalist complaining about witch hunts of this nature.

In Bill Roach's case, 10 different, independent women came forward with an accusation. That'd make you strongly suspect that there was a good case, wouldn't it

It has been associated with death and graveyards since pre-Christian times.
