that in the Invincibles year, when we got knocked out of the CL and FA Cup in the space of 4 days, most fans were not happy at all, despite the fact that we were still closing in on the title.

I remember the Liverpool league game that we ended up winning 4-2. The atmosphere in the first half was as if we were in the relegation zone.

Football fans aren't supposed to be like reality TV viewers, observing and offering their judgement. They're supposed to support. Twelfth man, n'all that.

You're advocating the attitude of a father who never expresses appreciation or pride in his child's achievements, incase the child starts resting on his laurels. What a horrible way to live.
