View Full Version : After the QPR game i realised there were four games taking place before we play wigan

And it would take all four to go against us for us to be f**ked. It needs chelsea to win at united and then lose at home to spurs, then chelsea to win at villa and spurs to win at stoke.

I should have had a f**king accumulator on those four :hehe:

If all of that happens then we have been horribly screwed

:yikes: can,t see it though. Best hope for scum is point at russians and win at stoke and against sunderland. then they would still need us to draw at newcastle to hand them top four.

If they get a point at Chelsea, we will likely need to win both our games

If they beat Chelsea, everyone will be ****ting themselves!

that happens then if they lose. then they must beat stoke . Otherwise fail to win either two games for scum and if we beat wigan and we top four

The only time spurs did qualify for the cl they did it by going to city very late on and winning. I see shades of that here. Got a bad feeling about it.

which I think would see us as marginal favourites.

Bit confused about the negativity I am seeing on here. Our chances of finishing top four right now are probably as high as they have been all season :shrug

If it turns out you are wrong, me and you are going to go round and round, pal- round and round

As i say, a pretty unlikely sequence of results is needed to genuinely f**k us in the arse. The first is in the bag and was, in my mind, the least likely.

Rememer, it isnt just top four we are talking about. It is eig replaced in it by spurs.

It is just panic. Deep down i am still confident that somebody will screw up somewhere and it will be in our hands by the time we face wigan.

I am far from confident about the wigan game.

LAST season but neglected to mention that united had nothing to play for ecause they had already clinched the title this season with games to spare.

So i didnt see a pretty ordinary chelsea side beating the newly crowned champions at old trafford? The side, with nothing to play for, who we couldnt beat last week?

No, i didnt. I thought united might make a game of it and wouldnt want to lose.

so are Spurs, and just as we might find our luck runs out against Wigan, so might Spurs in one or more of their remaining games.

If spurs won on Wednesday then of course I will be worried. But that would be a shock result and I see no point in worrying about something that PROBABLY won't happen.

Monty91

a chance nonetheless. More chance than Spurs winning on Wednesday, anyway.

Little point in worrying about the things that are almost certain to happen!

If spurs win at chelsea, then both need to win in their games at villa and stoke at the weekend. Either or both could still slip up there amd of either does, its back in our hands.

I am afraid we are going to go to newcadtle needing the win :yikes:

Wednesday is Spurs dropping points, and that at the very least this would mean two more wins would do it for us, I would have thought the general mood would not be as negative as it is.

is that there have been way too many jinxing merchants on this board, speaking of us creating our own luck.

Peter

And the reaction on here is all to do with that.

You know this, surely?

the 'game means f**k all' factor for Man Utd.

I dunno. Perhaps it's because I've not really been focussing on Chelsea during this whole run-in. I've kinda always assumed they would be strong enough to see off any challenge from us or Spurs.

My focus has been entirely on Spurs and their fixtures. I've thought we were marginal favourites for several weeks now and I still think we are, so maybe that helps explain my lack of panic. We are pretty much where I've hoped we'd be for some time now. Still on course, albeit with only a small amount of room for error.

few weeks ago so of course good enough to win. scum unlike them have not won at russians have not won for ages. think we and russians will still finish top four.

I suppose i hoped they would not want to lose to chelsea, and to rafa, at home.

I clearly overestimated their professional pride. And of course, chelsea are capable of big results, they have the quality.

But they are not a much better side than spurs. Spurs can win there, though you would hope that chelsea would not let that happen. A draw is okf for them, a defeat leaves them absolutely no margin for error at all in their last two games.
