Almost

This is perhaps why the current govt is vunerable to accusations of being an Etonian clique. In the not-so-distant past the conservative party would appeal to the aspirations of a much wider social base.

Also, the main parties refuse to have an open-minded debate about awkward issues like immigration, lack of democratic accountability in the EU, and eco-doom.

For my money anyway, George Galloway's campaign in Bradford is a much more effective model of getting people to actually engage with the issues.

The only people voting UKIP are the Telegraph comments section and sovereignty mentals

but notice how quick the Ruling Class pins labels such as "Extreme", "Outspoken", "Drivel", etc. on any thought that is outside their boundaries.

Unelected bureaucrats deciding how people should live, what they should eat, how much money they pay the government, what fines to levy, etc., is currently the biggest threat to our freedoms. A poll out today shows that the American public fears their government more than terrorists. I'd say the public has it measured correctly.

same thing going on here as well. Republicans and Democrats merge into one big Ruling Class with their prime objective being the sustainability of a system in which their power continues to increase regardless which one hlds office.

Meanwhile the unelected bureaucracy drones on with ever increasing budgets, zero accountability -- exercising control in the form of ever more rules and regulations, fines, property confiscation, etc.

Western society.

Same things are happening here, which is why I was compelled to chime in with my two bob.

Besides, I rather like a man who admitted to deciding to run for office after consuming "a lake of Rioja" .. :hehe:

Cab after cab after cab on both sides of the road. Like a thick, viscous stream of deisely bigotry.

the idea we have any input into any system of governance is quaint at best, mental at its worst.

Assemble others of like mind and persuade.

However, I'm not sure that the Apathy Party would be a world competitor on the political stage.

It's wrong, I wouldnt argue it's right for one moment, but the idea that one person's vote counts never fails to amuse me.

I'm actually with you on the militia front, nothing was ever achieved by a poor man's protest vote.

Which is an excellent thing, I reckon.

In civilised countries, people should have better things to do than worry over their government. Otherwise, what's the point.

voters that must turn-out before the Apathy Party is awarded victory by default?

We could be getting close to that in some countries. That's what Headgear told me anyway.

And if there is you're a threat and we'll unseat you with a coup

The Tea Party rose up from nothing and has had a reasonable amount of influence in stirring things up amongst the Ruling CLass. At the very least we smoked out the Republicans who talked a good game but in the end were only interested in perpetuating the status quo. From what I read a rather similar thing is going on now between UKIP and the Conservatives in the UK.

The alternative change agent is anarchy and Occupy Wall Street tactics that no voting public would support in meaningful numbers. It's not the system of government, it's how it is being used. Better to change from within.

Also, after giving it some thought. There's no way that you would fight in Von Rumpuy's army. Can't see you agreeing to those silly light blue helmets. You always hated Coventry.

And, of course, those that decide to give their money to such a cause are immediately castigated and ridiculed by the Ruling Class and their media sycophants.

That's sort of the point though, these funders are not funding the activities for altruistic purposes. It's a calculated return on investment, always is

It embodies an autocratic, arrogant ruling class with utter contempt for the masses. Founded by ex fascists, too, to continue the Fuhrer's project for a unified Europe.
