The problem for Wenger is that he made too many mistakes in signing players on long big money contracts,like Denilison,Bendtner, Arshavin, etc., and he can't unload them because no one wil pay their wages.
Loaning them out doesn't help much either because we still pay most of the wages for them,or as in the Russian's case just pay him until his contract expires.

If Wenger was a better manager he would never have got himself into this mess where he has a 60m a year higher wage bill than spusds do , but is only competing with them for a 4th place finish.

Wenger's only finished 3rd twice in the league since the move from Highbury. Last season he did it at the expense of Chelsea,who still qualified for the CL anyway after winning the Euro Cup . So there was not really anything for us to get excited over there.

Carrick is better than any of our midfield players,Wenger says he was better than RVP this season.
Wenger though ,unlike Ferguson, pays young players too much money and that pushes up our wage bill leaving less for the proven top stars. Not that we have any left now,but we should have.
