is not because he left but because he spent most of his career injured & Arsenal stood by him, when he was asked to do the same he stuck up the V sign.

on his triumphant return ,there is still the Ferguson factor involved in the guard of honour nonsense. And i don't buy this it's a tradition claim either.
I can recall the old jock refusing to allow the league trophy to be presented to us at Old Trafford when we won it there .
Liverpool allowed the ceremony to take place when we won the title at Anfield in 89, so there was a tradition involved in that, SAF ignored it though as he does with anything that doesn't fit his own agenda.
Then we have our unbeaten run that was ended by Ferguson's thuggery , and a dodgy penalty awarded by his pal Mike Riley that time. Who can forget Horsehead doing GBH on Cashley in that game, and other incidents on our players that took place that were ignored by match officials.
There was also the Scholes brutality on Reyes at Villa in the FAC semi-final. Ferguson was actually seen on TV whispering instructions to the ginger dwarf, while pointing at Reyes ,just before sending his hatchet man on.
Ferguson also advised other managers players to kick our ones at that period in time when we were his main rivals. That certainly cost us a title win one season away to Fat Sam's crew.
You could use United beating a local side to the title for an excuse to clap them out ,if it had occurred, by claiming that it was to wind up Chelsea or spuds, but anyone who applauds Ferguson and his players on Sunday is a fool , and that includes Wenger.

What's 'hypocritical' about Wenger applauding RvP? I'm delighted for him finally winning the medal his performances deserve - just disappointed that it's not with us. You cannot seriously suggest that if he'd stayed, it would have been us winning the title. Can you? United deserve it, so why not applaud them on to the pitch - then cheer our own team to victory? That is, after all, the general idea of sport

Has it crossed your dim mind that we might not beat United - and Persie could even score a United winning goal against us?
