Had we kept van Persie then we would not have signed one or more of Podolski, Giroud and Cazorla so the benefit of him staying would have been balanced by the loss of one of these.

I do believe we're through the tunnel and can spend again. 25 million maybe 30. That's enough for 1 top class striker. I think we're ok at CB barring loss of Vermaelen, but any money we get from him we could apply to a CB replacement so that's fine too.

Just need to have CL football so the player wants to come.
