Sorry Jack, but Arsenal are better off WITHOUT you in the side! Stats show Gunners do better when Wilshere is missing

For the season he was out injured Jack Wilshere was described as Arsenal’s missing link and the Gunners hailed his return after his 18 month injury lay off.
But are Arsenal better off without the 21-year-old? The stats would certainly suggest that is the case.
Despite being thought of as a key man in Arsenal’s midfield, the stats suggest that the Gunners actually have a better record WITHOUT Wilshere in the side.
The stats, provided by Opta, show that Arsenal have lost seven games with Wilshere in the side and just four with him outside of the starting XI.
Overall Arsenal win 55 per cent of games when the midfielder is missing and 51.9 per cent when he plays.
